connecting GND pins for AIO module, how few can I get away with?

Dear All,

Reading about the galvanic isolation on the AIO data sheet, I gather that I can use the GND pins for the analog inputs interchangeably. I'd rather not have to run a bundle of parallel wires all carrying the same signal, if I don't need to.

So in a simple system, I should be able to have a single GND connection for all inputs, plus a single GND connection for all outputs. Is that correct?

Hi Kees,

the analog inputs are differential and therefore do not have a common signal ground. Connecting all the signal ground together may work but haven't been tested by us thus the function can be guaranteed. Please also note that with this wiring you might lose accuracy and the other benefits of the differential transmitter. Also keep in mind that the supply ground must be separated from the signal ground in any cases.
