in pictory configured devices not found

I have configured a Virtual Modbus TCP Matser device in Pictory according to the tutorial of this website. When I check the device list in the Revpi shell with piTest -d only the RevPi core module is found. This is the same case for any addtional device I configure in pictory. I have booted a new buster image and updated the system and the same problem occures. I can write to the LEDs on the RevPi Core 3 device but not to the outputs of the Modbus Master device. What could be the problem source?
