WLAN Connection for dual use

Post by David_GT »

Dear community;

I have a question related to connectivity.

It is possible, using a WLAN usb dongle connected to the RevPi Core3 USB ports, to connect SIMULTAINUSLY to the internet (to send data to a server) and to a Node-Red Dashboard / VNC Connection?

Nowadays I am using the following:
- RJ45 port from RevPi Core3 as Modbus/TCP Master to collect data from a Pilz PNOZmulti & other devices
- WLAN Dongle to one USB port - To connect over VNC and send information using Node-Red Dashboard to mobile devices.
- External USB Ethernet card to the other USB port to connect to Internet

I want to simplify my connections and send all data and connect to internet over WLAN. It is possible?

Hi, just set the default gateway to your WiFi interface and address. I think with the search terms i.e. "linux network routing" you get a lot of information how to do this.

Thanks for your reply Dirk;

I adjust priorities from Wlan0 and eth0 to the same and then I can connect trough WLAN to Internet and VNC Server.
