Startup problem, format disk

Post by AndPY »

hello,

I have a question regarding making a image of the system.
When I try to make a image of the RevPi I follow the "Tutorial 01 – Creation of an image" guide.
But when I plug in the power and the windows computer get connection, then I get the message "You need to format the disk in drive F: before you can use it. "

But would not that erase the factory settings?
Any solution for this?

Hi Andy,

you can ignore this message and proceed further as metioned in the tutorial. The message is shown because Linux has different file system types than Windows and therefore it is not possible to read the filesystem contents without any additional file system driver installed. But this is irrelevant in this case, because the backup and flashing of an image is done on block level and does not need any file system access.
