UPS?

Post by Canellma »

Hello,
we're evaluating to use RevPI modules in a project.
I was not able to find this info:
Is the core module equipped with a back-up battery and a RTC?
Is it possible to monitor the power supply in order to perform a nontrolled shutdown?

Thank you
Matteo

Hi Matteo, curently only the RevPi Connect/+ Modules include RTC and 24 hour buffer via a maintenance free super capacitor.
Have a look at this tutorial - How To Connect UPS

Thank you Dirk for the fast reply.
About RevPi Connect, the supercap is used just for the RTC, it cannot be used to sustain the board for the shutdown in case of power loss, right?
For that you would need an external UPS anyway?
Thank you again

Hi Matteo, yes the supercap is just buffering the RTC.
