Buster on Revpi Compact // Password issue on the web interface

Post by bigmanvstrashman »

Hi,

I have an issue with the password of the web interface. (user : admin)
Everythings was working fine before updating the system (apt upgrade).
I tried to change password (passwd command) succesfully for the system.
But the web interface is not working (user unknow or password invalid)

Thanks for your help
Regards.

Do you have a dot or special character in your password? AFAIR we had issues also with that. Not sure if its still an issue (was some 2 years ago or so)

I encountered the same issue as well, everything was working fine before

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get upgrade
In additional to the web login issue, I noticed that the LED A3 on my RevPi Connect starts up with red LED after the upgrade. As it was always off in a normal operation, I think it might be something helpful.

Hi,
Nope, no dot or special characters.
The issue happen also with the pass delivered in the sticker.
I have another similar board, next to me, i'll try out to confirm (or not) this issue

Hi,
I have the same issue with my other card !
Exactly the same, just after update --> web interface login/default pass error

--> I'll not update my card for the moment (and no production state) until the 0-day patch coming...

This is likely due to the wrong kernel being installed, see my thread with the Buster in-place upgrade.

Yep you're right.

Other infos :
--> The good thing for this update is that node-red intergration is working now.
--> The shortcut link for the web interface (in desktop environnement) is in https, which occur the web page not reachable --> http work .. but not the password

Support
--> Let me know when it's fix

Thanks
Regards.

Hi,
I have the same problem but after a fresh Buster image installation from the website package download.
I'd tried every password (also the one into the lateral label), but I can't never login by putty, or linux, or web interface .... What's the right way to fix this issue?
