Thermistor Settings

Post by timjones »

I am reviewing the schematic of this board for high temp industrial applications. I see the 2 thermistors (RV202 and RV203), but puts a "U" for their temperature value. What is the temperature response for these thermistors? Ideally, what part did you use so that I can calculate thermal life.

well what should I say, Tim...
A thermistor has a theta as dependence parameter symbol and a varistor has an U... In this case they are 30 V varistors as the schematic will tell an engineer.
The schematics will not allow to review the circuit for its high temperature behaviour as there are no further specifications of all the parts which would define the temperature behaviour...
So you either need to believe us when we specify -40 to 55°C ambient or you need to test in a climate chamber acording to EN61131-2.

Its not that I don't trust you... Its that I was asked to review the design. :-)

Also, I very much appreciated your quick response. It is very much appreciated.
