Pictory automatic configuration

Post by PSB »

Hi,
first of all I would like to praise the Kunbus team for this great piece of hardware.

Now to the question, is there a way to load the Rev modules automatically into the process image (DI DO DIO), so that no user configuring is necessary, with piTest I'm able to see that it's connected, or does I've to manipulate manually the Pictory JSON File. If so, there is something like a GUID in the Moduledescription how is this number generated?

If you do not configure by PiCtory (or write the JSON file yourself) then th modules are working in a default mode. You can access their data from the process image. You can also run the piTest -d command and will see how the default has been recognized during boot time. We do not recommend to write your _config.rsc manually as the format is pretty complex and you can easily make faults.
If you need to distribute many devices with the same configuration you can simply copy and paste the _config.rsc from one system to the other.
