Information on RevPi compact un exposed header on PCB

Post by bhuvanchandradv »

Hello,
Out of curiosity, I opened the RevPi Compact. Interestingly, I see a 18 pin header on the top PCB under the button and also on the bottom right side of the PCB there is an assembled connector.
May I know the pin out of that header ? and What interface is available on the assembled connector ? Is it reserved for any future features ?

Apparently the schematics of the RevPi Compact haven't been uploaded to the support area on the website yet. Until that happens, here's the pinout of the GPIO expansion header on the top PCB. Note that the header isn't tested during end-of-line testing and we never released any expansion modules to plug into it, so it's not an officially supported feature.

The pins on the bottom PCB are meant to be occupied by an SD card slot. It's possible to solder an SD card slot to these pins (Molex 502570-0893) and exchange the Compute Module with a "Lite" version (without eMMC). A Compute Module *with* eMMC never uses an attached SD card, and that's the only variant we currently sell, hence the slot isn't factory-mounted to the board. So this is also not an officially supported feature.

Great!, thanks for the reference schematics, that helps a lot.
