RevPi Con CAN - Lower Temperature Operating Limit

Post by chris_c »

Hello,

I am evaluating the RevPi Connect+ in my project and I am also using the RevPi Con Can expansion module with it to control CAN devices.

I have a requirement to be able to operating at ambient temperatures lower than 0°C.

This is fine for the Rev Pi Connect+ as I can see from the datasheet that it is rated to operating at temperatures as low as -40°C however the RevPi Con CAN is only rated to 0°C.

I appreciate the RevPi Con modules are not part of the open source project but would you be able to share what (or what component) is the limiting factor for this module as the CAN Controller HI-3110 appears to have an operating temperature range with a lower bound of -40°C.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

Hi chris_c, there was an error when transferring the measurement results into the data sheet. -20..60°C have been tested successfully. Data sheets will be adapted.
