40-pin GPIO compatibility

Post by joshnn »

Hi Kumbus team,

We are evaluating compatibility of RevPi with a 40-pin GPIO IoT Hat that provides cellular network connectivity. This interface was originally designed for Raspberry Pi, but we believe it can be used for RevPi as well with DIO. What we are unsure is GPIO compatibility between RevPi and Raspberry Pi, where DIO comes with different number of pins. Would we able to see it just as a matter of matching a pin of one device to the one of the other? Or if there is any hardware spec we should keep in mind we would like to know in detail. FYI, the hardware we are interested is this: https://sixfab.com/product/raspberry-pi ... llular-hat.

Best,
- Josh

Dear Josh, the RevPi does not provide access to the IO pins as of the industrial design. There are IO Modules available that communicate via the process image.
There is a product which could possibly help you here the new RevPi Compact. This module is designed to have direct access to the IO pins. It will be soon available.

Here is a picture of it:
