Detecting 5v

Post by wrobin4283@gmail.com »

My project is to detect the absence of a 5v signal. Having the RevPI Core 3 along with the RevPI AIO configured as slave with HMI as the master.
The HMI and RevPI will communicate over Modbus TCP. My question is could this be done with REevPI Core 3?
Thank you in advance for the help.

Sorry Will, but somehow your plans are not fully obvious from your explanation.
Please try to explain your application in detail and I might explain which devices could be used. What HMI are you talking about? One running on the RevPi Core or a 3rd party product which does already exist and is working as a Modbus master? Are you sure the HMI is master (i.e. it is cyclically requesting data from slaves)? What kind of 5 V signal? a digital signal? Or an analogue one (e.g. 0 to +5 V)? Which frequency resolution is needed?
May be it is a good idea to first read the blog (in English) and to scroll down right to the beginning of the project. All the components and modules get explained in detail.
